Silver Moon: luxury and innovation on the sea
Silver Moon, Silversea Cruises’ 2020 ship, fully represents the elegance and luxury services characteristic of the company and brings to the sea a series of important innovations, both at the table and in all on-board services.
With a capacity of about 590 passengers, Silver Moon is able to offer an exclusive and attentive service to its guests, comfortably accommodated in spacious suites of various categories and with extremely elegant environments available. The structure of the ship offers most of the rooms dedicated to guests in the aft part, reserving the central and forward part for the suites. This allows to guarantee the maximum comfort and to acclimatize on board in a simple and effective way.
On board the Silver Moon, the Dolce Vita Bar, on deck 5, is certainly the most central place, the fulcrum of services to guests: in addition to being an elegant bar, here you will find the Shore Concierge, the Cruise Consultant and the Reception. The menu of cocktails, many of which are exclusive, will put you in the difficulty of having to choose, while listening to music from the piano or other live instruments.
But there is no shortage of other areas where you can have a good aperitif, coffee or afternoon tea. The Observation Library, located at the bow of deck 11, is definitely the right space to enjoy the days of navigation, with a view of the bow and the sea. Here you can find interesting books to consult, coffee always available but, in the evening, also the best cocktails for a really suggestive aperitif.
The Arts Cafe, on the other hand, is a brightly colored environment filled with art books and more, offering coffee and snacks at all hours of the day. It is the ideal place for a small snack or an afternoon tea, in an informal and bright atmosphere. The outdoor part of the restaurant overlooks the sea and offers just as much space to take advantage of the stern view while consuming some small delicacies.
The SALT Bar, located on deck 4 between the two main restaurants on board, is a small but extremely welcoming environment: here truly exclusive cocktails are served, made before your eyes by a skilled and passionate barman and served in an elegant manner. The ideal place for a pleasant break before continuing to the restaurant.
The Panorama Lounge, aft of Deck 9, is the liveliest place in the evening, where live music or DJs entertain guests well into the night. The Bar is distinguished by an excellent selection of Gin, as well as other spirits. The large lounge also has a beautiful outdoor area overlooking the stern. Cigar lovers can find themselves at the adjacent Connosseur’s Corner, which offers an indoor and an outdoor space, providing fine Cognacs combined with the most famous cigars.
The outdoor decks have just as many relaxation areas to offer. Starting from the central swimming pool, equipped with two side Jacuzzis and large areas with sun loungers but also armchairs and sofas in shaded areas. Here, the Pool Bar serves your favorite beverage all day long right by the pool, while the Pool Grill offers great food for lunch and spectacular Hot Rocks cuisine in the evening.
Other Jacuzzis are located in the aft area of deck 10, along with “double” sunbeds that offer relaxation and spectacular views of the sea. Deck 11, above the swimming pool, also offers sun loungers and comfortable seating to enjoy the sun and the view.
Theater shows are held at the Venetian Lounge, the onboard theater located on Deck 5. The shows are always different and offer not only high-level entertainment, but also fun and able to amaze guests with various kinds of variety. The on-board boutiques are also beautiful, with clothing, perfumes and gift items, as well as a splendid jewelry shop, with some truly breathtaking showcases.
Wellness lovers will find at the Zagara Spa everything they need to relax mind and body: a long series of treatments and massages, a range of services from sauna to Turkish bath, up to the beautiful outdoor area, with large Jacuzzi. The spa area is divided between one open to the public and one on reservation, with reserved areas. Zagara Fitness Center is instead the adjacent gym, equipped with all modern equipment.
Dining on the Silver Moon is something truly innovative, both for the company and for the cruise world as a whole. First of all, the choice of restaurants is impressive for a ship of this size: in the evening there are at least 8 options, not to mention the exclusive All Around Dining that allows you to order a full menu 24 hours a day and receive it anywhere on the ship!
On deck 4 there are two main restaurants, with no need for reservations: the Atlantide Restaurant, elegant and luxurious, with an international menu, and the SALT Kitchen, more informal and reserved for tasting the delicacies of the places visited. The SALT program includes the tasting of local dishes and wines and is an important innovation in the field of on-board catering. It is a real in-depth study of food and wine related to the ship’s itinerary.
Kaiseki is the oriental restaurant of Silver Moon: at lunchtime it serves free sushi and sashimi. In the evening, reservations are required and with a small fee you can taste traditional oriental and Japanese dishes, both freely a la carte and with a menu proposed by the Chef, really not to be missed. Just in front of it there is the SALT Lab that, at least a couple of times a day, offers cooking lessons and insights on traditional recipes of the places visited during the stopovers.
The culinary offerings continue on deck 7: here the Silver Note offers a truly special cuisine, made up of a series of freely ordered courses. Sophisticated flavors and eclectic combinations, but certainly all to be tried up to the spectacular desserts, really extraordinary. Here dinner is enlivened by live music. The restaurant is also available for aperitifs and cocktails after dinner. The Dame Restaurant is the most refined and elegant option. Treat yourself to an unhurried evening, to be spent slowly in this nice and relaxing environment, enjoying one course after another: it will be an experience hard to forget.
La Terrazza Restaurant, which during lunchtime is the buffet restaurant, in the evening turns into an Italian restaurant, offering the best traditional dishes of the Peninsula. The environment is more informal but certainly always very popular and appreciated. As mentioned above, the Pool Grill, in the pool area, in the evening becomes the exclusive Hot Rocks: choose your favorite cut of meat or fish and it will be cooked directly on the table, thanks to the lava stones provided. An excellent alternative to enjoy the atmosphere of an evening under the stars and by the pool. Open 12 hours a day, finally, the Pizzeria Spaccanapoli on deck 10: from the calzone to the simple margherita, one of the best pizzas you’ll taste on the sea!
The Silver Moon offers a range of Suite accommodations in various categories, all offering a very high standard of services and amenities: from walk-in closets, to butlers, to mini bars, to bathroom amenities provided by Bulgari. Veranda Suites are divided into Classic, Superior or Deluxe depending on the area of the ship in which they are located. The most spacious categories range from the Royal Suite and Silver Suite to the incredible Grand Suites and Owner’s Suites, which are veritable apartments by the sea.
The Silver Moon is a ship of great livability, with an excellent guest/crew ratio, able to guarantee a service that is not only attentive and rigorous, but tailor-made for each passenger. The elegant rooms, the relaxing atmosphere and the extraordinary gastronomic offer on board certainly offer a valuable added value to the unusual and exclusive itineraries proposed around the world.
The SALT program brought on board Silversea Cruises‘ ships, and Silver Moon first, a new dimension of travelling: a deep and complete knowledge of the places visited through their enogastronomical culture. A journey that continues on board as well, tasting wines and dishes of the local tradition. All this comfortably immersed in a relaxing and elegant environment and surrounded by the attention and courtesy of the crew.
