Silver Spirit: let’s go on board
The Silver Spirit, a ship from 2008 and for a long period the flagship of Silversea Cruises, has recently undergone a refitting to elongate the ship for the addition of new suites as well as a renovation of many areas. Let’s discover the ship together step by step…
The Silver Spirit is a very elegant ship that gives its guests the sensation of finding themselves on a luxury yacht, immersed in an atmosphere that is both relaxing and welcoming. On board you can see the great attention to detail and experience the courtesy of the staff and their desire to meet the needs of every single guest. Countless works of art and spaces that are decorated with good taste will accompany you during a unique cruise.
Most certainly the variety and the quality of the restaurants is one of the strengths of the Silver Spirit, as with the rest of the Silversea Cruises fleet. The two main restaurants on board are the Atlantide Restaurant and the Indochine, inspired by international cuisine and Asian cuisine respectively. There is no need to make a reservation and there are no set meal times. La Terrazza Restaurant is a buffet restaurant during breakfast and lunch and in the evening it is transformed into an Italian restaurant, free but with a reservation required. The external balcony at the back of the ship is beautiful.
The Silver Note is another free restaurant with musical accompaniment, a gourmet menu and a cozy and elegant atmosphere. For a small extra fee, you can enjoy the delicacies at the Seishin, the open-kitchen Japanese restaurant, or at Le Dame, the most luxurious restaurant on board. Poolside you will find The Grill, which offers a lunch menu of excellent hamburgers, salads and meats, and then transforms into an open air restaurant in the evening with an “on the rocks” kitchen – a wide selection of meat and fish served raw on scorching hot lava stones. One of the best pizzas on the sea? Surely the answer is the pizza served at Pizzeria Spaccanapoli on deck 10!
The Silver Spirit offers a wide choice of lounges and bars where you can pass enjoyable hours during navigation or evenings on board. The Dolce Vita, located on deck 6, is beautiful and brings together in a single large space a bar and sitting areas, as well as some services such as the Guest Services, Cruise Consultant, Shore Concierge, etc.
On deck 8, next to the Silver Note restaurant, you will find the lively Art’s Café, a colorful bar with displays filled with pastries and salty snacks that is open all day long. Here you can have a coffee while reading a book about art, or relax on one of the outside armchairs that offer a view over the back of the ship. Cigar lovers can take refuge at the Connoisseur’s Corner that offers a choice of distilled liquors and cigars from around the world. The Panorama Lounge is located on the upper deck and is a very popular and versatile space. During the day it is the ideal environment for reading and conversing, in the evening it transforms into a ballroom with live music and a DJ. Lastly there is the beautiful Tor’s Observation Library, located on the bow of deck 11. It is an ideal retreat during the day to admire the sea and read a good book, and then becomes a lively lounge in the evening and the perfect place to enjoy an aperitif.
The Zagara Beauty Spa is found on deck 6 and offers a Fitness Center with even some equipment located outdoors, a sauna and a Turkish bath. For a fee, you can enjoy a series of treatments and access to the Thermal Suite, which includes an outdoor hot tub, relaxation area with tepidarium and other services.
The lido area is found on deck 9. The swimming pool is large and is surrounded by a spacious solarium area on all sides. Three hot tubs complete the central lido, and are served by the Pool Bar and by The Grill. On the upper deck there is a Jogging Track with a view on the lido that circles part of the stern of the ship.
There are nine categories of suites on board the Silver Spirit, all with external view and with butler service. Many of the best and most luxurious were added after the 2018 renovation of the ship. The Owner’s Suites, Grand Suite and Royal Suite are all fabulous. But certainly also excellent is the Silver Suite and the “simple” Deluxe, Superior, Classic, Panorama and Vista Suites.
The Silver Spirit offers a cruise notable for its elegance and excellent service, with attention to detail and care for the clients’ every need. The luxurious environments are rich with works of art but none-the-less create an atmosphere that is rather informal and pleasingly intimate, and where it is easy to immediately feel at home. With exclusive and unusual itineraries, dedicated concierge services, and all-inclusive packages that include nearly everything, the result is a cruise with an incredible value that offers a true experiential voyage.
