Simplicity and Tradition on the Rex Rheni
I boarded with the idea of experiencing something classic and traditional, and I wasn’t disappointed. The ship has a simple, almost nostalgic charm, but it’s very well maintained, with tidy cabins and welcoming common areas. What I appreciated the most was the slow pace of the journey. Cruising along the Rhine and the Moselle, waking up every morning in a different place, felt like stepping back in time. Small villages, vineyards climbing the hillsides, castles straight out of a fairy tale—the view from the deck was always breathtaking. There’s a friendly, sociable atmosphere on board. I met so many lovely people with whom I shared stories and laughs, especially during the evenings in the lounge, sipping a glass of local wine. The food is simple and wholesome, just the way I like it. There’s no excessive luxury, but rather an authenticity that’s hard to find elsewhere.
