The Sanctuary Ananda was custom-built by local artisans using traditional materials while offering elegant contemporary luxury. Thanks to its shallow draft, this ship can navigate the Irrawaddy and Chindwin rivers and dock in the center of Mandalay, thanks to a private mooring point. Built in 2014, Sanctuary Ananda features a luxurious Owner Suite and 21 spacious suites, among the largest found on Myanmar's rivers.
For guests, there are three passenger decks, a sun deck with an outdoor pool, and the panoramic Kansi lounge, set with full-height windows, making it the perfect spot for afternoon tea or evening cocktails. The lounge hosts daily conferences as well as craft and cooking demonstrations. Sliding doors lead to the sun deck area with a small pool. The ship is luxuriously furnished with an excellent blend of contemporary and Burmese styles, and all cabins have floor-to-ceiling windows and balconies complete with garden furniture.
The proposed itineraries are very charming and exclusive, with a wide selection of excursions included in the cruise price and unique cultural experiences. Delightful dining options will entertain guests, with a variety of Asian and international dishes served by professional staff offering friendly and courteous service. The Talifoo restaurant is a complimentary à la carte restaurant where free drinks (local beers, house wine, soft drinks, water) are served at all meals, while the Mindoon Al Fresco offers refined food, homemade desserts, and freshly squeezed juices at the buffet breakfast to a rich menu of international and local specialties. Onboard, there is also the Dufferin Library.
Guest speakers and professional guides regularly give lectures on the places visited to immerse guests in the history and culture of Myanmar. Evening entertainment consists of shows presented after dinner featuring skillful Burmese dancers dressed in vibrant costumes.

Nice Cruise
The ship is really cute, and we were fortunate to be upgraded to a suite. The ship is decorated in true Chinese style with a theater, a gym, a well-furnished lounge overlooking a front deck area with plenty of seating, but most importantly, it was an excellent observation area. The food was good, both Western and Chinese cuisine were available with delicious dishes. The tours were well-organized.
