The Scenic Diamond, constructed in 2008, is the third in a series of five Scenic Tours ships, alongside its fleet sisters Emerald, Pearl, Ruby, and Sapphire. These European river cruise ships are approximately 20% longer and have a lower passenger capacity compared to standard river vessels on the continent. This design allows for more spacious accommodations and additional public space. The Scenic Diamond features a total of 85 cabins accommodating 169 passengers, attended to by a staff of 48 crew members.
The ship comprises 4 passenger decks (including 2 full decks of balcony suites), 2 restaurants, a spacious upper deck (with an observation area and a relaxation zone with shaded seating), gourmet dining options, a gym and spa, passenger bicycles, and 1 elevator connecting all 3 cabin decks.
All Scenic Diamond cabins have a maximum capacity of 2 guests per cabin. Except for the lower cabins (Jewel Deck 1) at water level, all other cabins (87%) are balcony cabins. Marketed by Scenic Tours as "Suite" accommodations with "Sun Lounge," each of these cabins has a private balcony (step-out) for year-round use. There are a total of 14 cabin categories.
