The Scenic Opal, one of the newest "Space Ships," commenced its voyages in June 2015. The ship is 135 meters long, accommodating 169 guests and 53 crew members. Similar to its sister ship, the Scenic Jasper, the Scenic Opal features some of the largest suites in the industry, with a couple of suites measuring up to 45 square meters. The Scenic Opal offers balconies in 85% of its cabins: these are actual balconies that replace the traditional French balcony. There are 14 different cabin categories, all equipped with flat-screen TVs, a safe, wireless internet access, free minibar, L'Occitane toiletries, a hairdryer, soft bathrobes, and Egyptian cotton sheets. The cabins on the Sapphire and Diamond decks have "Sun Lounge" balconies, meaning floor-to-ceiling retractable windows that fully open up the space. The Panorama Lounge and Bar are located at the front of the Diamond Deck and feature floor-to-ceiling windows that allow spectacular views of the passing scenery.
Dining options on the Scenic Opal include the casual Crystal Dining Room or the more formal and elegant Table La Rive, available to guests in selected cabin categories. The Portobellos restaurant offers traditional Italian cuisine, the River Café provides informal dinners and snacks, and on the Sun Deck, there is the Riverview Terrace offering an outdoor culinary experience. Other public areas available to guests include a Vitality pool, a fitness center, and a hair salon on the Jewel Deck, while the spa is available on the Sapphire Deck.
