The ship was launched in 2016 and sails on the Danube River; it is 132 meters long and can accommodate 130 passengers. MS Joy is beautifully designed, with an impressive glass and marble reception area, brass finishes, and sumptuously upholstered chairs and sofas. The cabins are of good size, but to achieve this they have sacrificed balconies (there are "French balconies", which are essentially sliding glass doors). The food on Joy is of the highest quality, with many regional variations and excellent regional wines; there are only two dining venues: Compass Rose, the main dining room, and Arthur's, the casual "grill" style restaurant, for snacks and meals all day. There is also a small gym, spa, and salon. The upper deck is dedicated to seating and sun loungers and features a small putting green and a hot tub. The all-inclusive treatment includes Wi-Fi, meals, wine, entertainment, onshore excursions, airport transfers, and all gratuities.
There are 67 cabins, with nine cabin categories, located on three decks. Each cabin features a flat-screen TV with on-demand movies, a telephone, and a safe; an alarm clock/music player with integrated iPhone charger; a minibar stocked with water, soft drinks, and juices; and in all but the nine smallest cabins, a Keurig coffee maker. All cabins are equipped with bathrobes and slippers. The bathrooms are spacious, with large showers with glass doors with an integrated seat, a handheld showerhead, and a clothesline for drying wet clothes. The larger bathrooms also feature a rain showerhead. The bath products are from the exclusive cosmetic company Molton Brown and include a soap bar, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and lotion, replenished daily.
The 22 suites each feature a pull-out sofa bed to accommodate a third and fourth passenger, a walk-in closet, two French balconies with floor-to-ceiling windows and brocade coverings. They are not "true suites" as the living area is not in a separate room from the bed, but at 27 square meters they are still quite spacious.
