Marella Explorer, como el Marella Exolorer 2, es un barco creado para Celebrity Cruises, ex Celebrity Galaxy, que ha sufrido varios pasajes a lo largo del tiempo. De 2009 a 2018, contribuyó al desarrollo y al éxito de la marca alemana Tui Cruises, con el nombre de Mein Schiff primero y Mein Schiff 1 después. El barco tuvo una modernización sustancial en 2018 que la hizo aún más utilizable y actual.
El estilo a bordo de los barcos de Marella Cruises es informal y adaptado a la clientela principal de origen británica. Sin embargo, en estos barcos se tienen una huella más internacional y se disfrutan de ambientes modernos y cómodos, tanto internos como externos.

Fantastic cruise!
Ship, staff, food
Once on board we were impressed not only by the beauty of the ship but also by the friendliness of the staff, who also immediately guided us to our stateroom. The ship was always clean and the food was very good, we also tried the speciality restaurants and they were outstanding! The entertainment staff were very nice, we enjoyed the activities organized during the day. The children's program was also excellent with the mini club where our children had a lot of fun. Beautiful destinations, Funchal was amazing, we went on the car’s cable, saw the gardens and the market. The excursion to Santa Cruz was beautiful. Good overall experience on Marella Explorer board: friendly staff, clean and well-maintained ship, good organization.
